Thanks Cody. I am sure it brings back some great memories! I took a sort of hiatus while I was working on some other projects but the recent response has been overwhelming so I will start it up again.
I will keep you posted

Absolutely, and unequivocally, my favorite band of all time. Highlight and weird light was doing a leg of a Kinks tour during their Arista arena days. Dave was an odd fellow. But who cares? And seeing Ray a couple of years ago was an incandescent evening.

David, I like your blog.

Hi,

Really enjoyed my first (and too brief!) look at your site. It's really wonderful and I'll be back!

Have to make one comment: In your opening section, where you explain why you're doing this, you mention the Brill Building and note a number of the legendary songwriting teams that were working there. You left out one of the greatest who were just, by the way, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month: Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich! They wrote such standards as "Leader of the Pack," "River Deep, Mountain High," "Da Doo Run Run," "Doo-Wah Diddy, Diddy Dum, Diddy Doo", co-wrote "Sugar Sugar" with Andy Kim, wrote "I Honestly Love You" (which I hate) and "Montego Bay" (which I love) and is the guy who convinced Neil Diamond to try performing onstage (he was writing at the Brill Building, too) -- then produced his first 3 albums.

Other wonderful fact: On Van Morrison's great "Brown-Eyed Girl," the "sha-la-la's" at the end of the song are NOT Morrison, but Jeff Barry.

Hope you don't mind my writing to share this. Jeff did so much for rock-and-roll--and on top of it, is a really, really nice guy.

I eagerly await the Hollies column. i was sad to see Tony Hicks didn't make the HOF dinner but was also glad that he's still a working musician and the show must go on.

I am eagerly awaiting your Hollies column, was thrilled to see them get their place finally in the R'n"R HOF.
Another tremendous band of the British Invasion that didn't,i feel get its proper due.

As Far as the original Fleetwood Mac,i had the pleasure to see them jam many nights,Mick Fleetwood, remember he used to have like a pair of silver balls on a string that hung from his waist so when he sat at the drums they hung down between his legs?
John McVie,Peter Green, i saw them jam one night with Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin came in and sang with them,Buddy Miles was also there as well as Randy Hobbs, who was the bass player for The McCoys as well as later on playing bass for Jimi on some albums and almost always when Jimi was out jamming in NYC
